Do You Attract the Wrong People?

You may be convinced that finding love is about attracting the right people.

I disagree.

I think it’s about not accepting the wrong people. Think about it: every second you spend with the wrong partner is a second that you're not looking for the right partner.

So this month – the month of Valentine's Day – please read my Dating Tip O’ The Month, and, if necessary, cut loose the person that's been weighing down your life. When you open yourself up to the unknown, the possibilities are endless.

You deserve to have it all, so keep dreaming big. I'll be with you every step of the way.

Warmest wishes,

Your friend,

Evan

You Don't Attract the Wrong People, You Accept The Wrong People.

Every week, I receive emails that sound something like this:

Dear Evan,

I'm forty-one years old and I've been told that I'm a great catch. I'm close with my friends and family, I'm well-liked at work, and I have a really kind heart. What I can't understand, however, is how the only people I seem to date are completely dysfunctional. I don't get it. I know that I'm sane and stable, yet I just seem to attract nothing but people who are emotionally unavailable, not serious about a relationship, or just plain weird. What can I do to start attracting a higher caliber date?

Thanks,

Pat
(either a man or a woman, but more likely, a woman, because men rarely ask for help)

Special plug this month to my friend, Alison Armstrong, whose CDs and seminars are truly priceless. For a taste of her wit and wisdom, check out this short YouTube clip on why women try to change men.

If you like that, you'll LOVE her products below.

Click here to purchase Alison's workshop "In Sync With the Opposite Sex" on CD. I've taken this course live and can vouch for her material. You will not be disappointed.

Click here to attend Alison's two day workshop for women, "Celebrating Men, Satisfying Women" (available in LA, New York, San Diego, San Francisco, and Portland). As I am not a woman, I have not attended, but I have friends who SWEAR by this course.

Click here to attend Alison's FREE three hour seminar, "Making Sense of Men". (available in LA, New York, San Diego, San Francisco, and Portland). Perfect if you're looking for an intro to Alison without plunking down a dime.

testimonials Maybe I haven't been all that controversial recently, but I've received nothing but nice email from my recent Yahoo Personals articles. This email was my favorite from the last month, but I'm grateful to anyone who took the time to write something thoughtful.

I'm a 44 year old guy, new to online dating (just started with Yahoo recently) and I have to say that from the little I've seen so far your articles are the BEST: VERY well written, in your unique and honest voice, with non-cliche advice (unlike most of the other trite stuff I've found on the Yahoo site). It's too early to tell if it's going to help me in the more tangible ways, but I already feel like you've helped me find more confidence to express my sense of humor and keep a healthier perspective on this crazy way to try to find chemistry.

Thanks and keep up the good work,

Greg

By the way, the game is called Sequence and I highly recommend it. This, and other pearls of wisdom available when you get my free advice emailed to you each week!

'til next month...your friend,
